He was moving again, now that the Batman apparently knew where he had once stayed. It was an irritation at best, he had grown accustomed to life in that particular sty and finding a new one was more trouble than he cared the consider. Whatever the case this time he would find a place on his own- this complacency, this dependence, it left a bad taste in his mouth.
This place wasn't terrible, a little too close to downtown and thus too close to the police and the sort of people who might look a little too closely at what remained of his face. Harvey's fingers twisted the coin around, the last gift of his father, his good eye staring at the terrible wallpaper as he half waited, half mused. Planned- schemed maybe. He had always been a man of action.
An hour, Cross Marian had said. It would be soon enough. He didn't even stop to consider why he had agreed, the reason was flitting across his finger tips.
