[rl] Harvey and Maggie

Harvey refused to invite anyone back to the 'house'- apartment really, since Maggie attracted trouble, Joker was trouble and Crane was always a willing audience even behind the condescending lift of his brow. It was bad men in a bad place and yet Maggie came, of her own free will, and part of Harvey found it morbidly entertaining while the other part was thankful.

He leaned against the doorway, the surrounding mostly cleared of crowds thanks to a little help. It was amazing how easy it was to get help without showing your face. The destitute were a shameless workforce.

"I dunno. Last time it was their leader. Who knows what it could be this time," She lifted her shoulders into a shrug. She leaned forward, elbows on her knees. "I wish I knew. But we just...don't." IT kind of freaks her out. Every time they get a ping, she panics, just a little bit.

"Never a dull moment." Harvey raised his glass, regarded her seriously. "If you need it you'll come here and hide. If those robots of yours get out of control."

"Cause here is a way better alternative than giant robots." Playing with the Joker was sooo much more fun. "Don't worry, Harvey. This is my job. It's...my thing, you know?"

Harvey had to give her that. "It's a coin toss either way." He commented, almost mocking himself - halfway. "Fine, your 'thing.' Try to keep that thing from stomping on you."

Maggie couldn't help but snort at that. A coin toss. How ironic.

"Pretty much. And trust me, I'll try to stay out from underfoot." Emphasis on try. She hadn't done so well the first time.

"So what have you been doing in Gotham?"

Harvey's split brow rose but he said nothing else on the matter. It would be wasted breath in all likely hood.

He finished his drink after Maggie asked, punctuating her question. "Fine." He answered as he placed the glass down, pausing only a moment before continuing. "Falcone's men are practically demolished. Their ranks have been completely gutted."

Harvey knows her very well. She gestured to his glass, silently asking if he wanted another.

"Are you behaving yourself bes as possible?" She asked, clearing her throat. His terminology made her raise a brow, but there's no way she's going to ask his actual methods.
